I'm just curious...
Who out there does any sort of calibration on their home theatre gear and whats you're preferred way to do it?
Can be anything, eyeing it up to colorimeters.
I personally use a combo of Avia, Digital video essentials and a few other calibration dvds in my store and on friend's tvs.

Desktop: i7 920, GTX 275, asus P6T, antec 1200, 6gb ram, 1tb spinpoint f1, 1tb spinpoint f3, Logitech Z2300, Zero DAC, Shure SRH440
Laptop: Toshiba satellite, T5300, Go 7300
Home Theatre: 32" loewe CRT, Harmon kardon amp, dvd player, image 418 speakers, rega planar 25 turntable :)

I have used the THX calibration that comes on some DVD's. I used this on my TV and two friends. Works well. Others I have just played with by sight as they had the contrast etc set to max and it was killing me looking at it.

I am a certified isf calibrator, and just this week became the official isf calibrator for the Panasonic Premiere VX100 range Plasmas in NZ.
I also do most other types and standard models and brands.

I use a video generator, colourmeter, spectrometer, software, the cal DVDs and patience.

Me:"I'm not a robot!"

ET: "Maybe; you have some freewill, but you chose your path by arrangement"

Me "That sounds like a program with no freewill?"

ET: "We will catch up when you end this cycle"

Me: "Sounds like a 'KPI'!"

ET: "Did you read the terms and conditions?"

Me: .....

Wow didn't know there was anyone isf certified in NZ, how did you get into it and become certified?
I'm keen to make the step up from dvds but I'm unsure how to go about it.
