I'm looking for a relatively simple Blu-Ray home theatre system. I have the TV, and am considering these two options:

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on those two packages, or is there some other products I should be looking at? Just looking for a nice Blu-Ray setup really, under $1K would be good.

Me personally I would go for the Sony blu-ray setup reason being for the bravia sinc and I prefer Sony over Panasonic. What sort of TV do you have?

I presume you would need a Bravia for Bravia synch to work.

If I was going to go for a Home Theatre in a box it would have to be the LG-HB954WA, okay so the sound isn't as good as a rack system but to me it sounded right up there, it's wireless nothing worse than surrounds with wires everywhere.

It's not a Panasonic.... :)

It's $1000 more than those other packs you listed but if you are planning on getting it on HP it wont make much difference.

If you must go Panasonic you can pickup the SCBT200GNKfor $700....

If I was going to go with a compoent/rack system it would be the Sony HT-DDW7500, although you would need to purchase a Blu-ray player on top of the $1300-$1500 price.

It's not under $1000 and doesn't have a player with it, but add in a PS3 and you have a nice wee set up, well I think so, as this is part of my home theatre.

Or you could just add a stand alone Blu-ray player such as this

Sure its no Denon, or Marantz etc etc, but for under 2000, its not too bad.

Would definitly be worth while going for the Sony blu-Ray player/home theatre for that matter.

Looks pretty good, first one of the in the box solutions I've seen with HDMI inputs.
