Most of the Sky Box Hardware threads are a few years old now.

Just wanted to check if the current Sky Digital (base model, not MySKY version) have digital coax or optical outputs?

And do Sky now broadcast anything in 5.1? -so is it worth hooking the sky box up via digital audio anyway?

Cheers.

Don't think there's an optical output.

I just have standard RCA cables hooked into my surround sound system and live with the results of the digital processor making up its mind where the sound is channeled to.

Same here although my stb goes into my htpc then by spdif to my stereo. You get some stuff that won't come out of your rear speakers and some that will. Mostly is good enough though
