After consuming a significant level of funds, I now have two
end-of-life HTPCs. One I’ve replaced with PS3, but downstairs I only have Wii,
does anyone know of a client (channel) I can download that supports DLNA. Read
many forums that use Orb via the browser, but really I just want to play MP3
off my DLNA servers (WHS & Twonky).

Various forums and experimenting has lead me to the conclusion that this isn't going to fly, so I'm going to try an rebirth an ancient PC with Linux and see what I can get it to do.

well that isn't going to work, I forgot I need a WiFi device. If only I had the cash I'd buy another PS3 with PlayTV. Is there a FreeView wireless media player that supports DLNA out there other than PS3/PlayTV combo?

the answer turns out to be, my Vaio laptop. It's wireless, plays media, including DLNA and now with RemotePlay to the PS3, it can run (downscalled) FreeView and recorded material. So upstairs is now using the PS3 with PlayTV and downstairs uses the laptop, job done.
