I'm getting MySky installed next week and what I'm trying to figure out is what the easiest way to get recorded programmes onto my iMac would be..

I have an Intel Mac so running Windows software is no hassle at all, though I can't figure out what application/hardware I'd need!!

The only thing I can think of is buy a dirt-cheap DVD recorder (DSE do one for under $200!), hook that up to MySky, burn a DVD then rip it onto my Mac - talk about a hassle!!

Any recommendations, anyone?

that's probably the easiest. or get a capture device and hook it up to the Mac and play the program, and it streams to the capture device and "record" straight onto the computer.

I think you may be able to find a capture device for mac without having to get onto windows on mac. and just use imovie hd to edit and idvd to burn.

As to how much such capture device maybe, i think it'd be around three hundreds price range, compare to a standard (good brand) dvd recorder. if you spend a bit more, you maybe able to get HDD/DVD recorder.

Such as this? $487 +GST... ouch :/ TV Tuners for Macs are so rare and expensive, it sucks. Or are you saying there are capture devices which aren't necessarily TV tuners?

there are some capture devices that doesn't require tuner and you don't need tuner feature anyway.

i think pinnacle or avermedia have some range. I was looking for them this morning online, but didn't have time to compile a list.

Do a search and hope you find some. and perhaps check with apple.com and see if they have a compatible list.
