Just wondering if anyone has a confirmed list of the STBs that will be used for NZ's Free view service?

The reason I ask is I have a really rank TV reception and I don't watch it enough to warrant getting sky, there is a satellite dish on the roof, and I know you can buy STBs now, but i want to make sure it will be compatible with the up and coming services.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Logan

Hi,
At the moment there are no Freeview Certified Set Top Boxes. It will be quite some time before any certified boxes are available. However we sell many Set Top Boxes that work with the free to air satellite (and terrestrial) services that are already broadcast by TVNZ. They will all continue to work after Freeview is officially launched.

Terrestrial free to air digital channels are currently only broadcast in Auckland and there are fewer channels available than from the OPTUS B1 satellite (It currently broadcasts 8 unique channels).

If you want to get a Set Top Box now their is no reason you can't enjoy crystal clear digital TV with Dolby Digital sound. Once extra Freeview channels become available you can just scan for the new channels and watch them as well.

Our Satellite Set Top Boxes are here located at

Cheers,
