eurodownes: Thank you for all advise
When I connectthe laptop to the TV, the TV mirrors the display on thlaptop and I can view you tube clips, photos or whatever.
So I rented a video from iTunes (which took ages to download) and when I wanted to watch it said it can only be watched on displays that support HDCP
Does that mean
1. Do I need amother / different cable
2. Do I need a device like apple TV
3. Do I need a different TV (I only got this one Two weeks ago)
4. Do I need to hire videos from another source

eurodownes: Thanks for all this. I now realize that I can't use the VGA cable with the (expensive) adapter to fit the MBP and have to use a HDMI cable but ... I don't think there is an HDMI port in my MBP!!!
