cyril7: Hi, have purchased literaly dozens from cablesdirect they are Dynamix brand, never had an issue. I should point out that HDMI.org control the raw cable stock sources, so its rare that cables vary significantly in performance. If you buy monster you need you hear read.

+1 for cables direct.

I've brought all my optical, ethernet and HDMI cables from them, including a 10m HDMI which I tested out the other day and it works pefectly. I find the prices from them to be really good and the service excellent!

CB_24: So I have finally stepped into the new era of a new TV that has HDMI inputs.
Will be setting it up over the weekend and move my devices (TiVo, XBox etc) from RCA to HDMI.

I remember a while back there was talk of expensive and cheap cables actually being exactly the same.
What's the go with HDMI cables??

Quite a few online stores overseas have them. The last one I got was $8 off deal extreme, but had to wait a month. Its fine if you aren't in a rush.

I've only ever used cheap TradeMe cables, and for the most part I've had no issues. I did buy a HDMI switch, and once that was incorporated into my system one of my cables was giving me problematic output from my PS3. Every minute or so, I'd have problems with the screen refresh. But I swapped that cable (which was working fine prior to being run through the switch) with another cheap one, and I've had no problems since.
