Based on above I got this http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=VGAEVG1313

It works perfectly, it fixed 99% of my freeview watching issues. Very very rarely it will jitter/stutter/black bits over the screen, but I think its only when changing channels, I believe a secondary drive for recording will get rid of that. Its barely an issue as it is.

I am also using a demo of http://www.arcsoft.com/totalmedia-theatre/ and so far seems pretty good. No problems with blu-ray playback (so far, haven't watched a full movie yet)

Thanks all for your help!

Good to hear. I did find having a separate drive for recording helps.

borgia: +1 on the Nvidia vrs Ati, I use Ati in all my other pc's but have never got an Ati card to play nice with freeview.

+0 on the ATI. I have three ATI based machines for Freeview. 2x4670 and 1xultraportable

+0 because my main setup, which works perfectly now, was painful to get working.
