I'd recommend win7 media centre or mediaportal. Win7 Media centre being the easier of the two to setup, however it has less features.




HTPC / Home automation (home assistant) enthusiast.

I'll be happy if it can record a series, and wake up itself up/ go back to sleep afterwards. Having looked at some of the software you guys have recommended, a lot of them deal with clashes and back to back programmes than the sky box!

Have never tried series record but  I can set a program to record then I turn it off with the remote,  The htpc wakes up records the program and then goes back to sleep afterwards
