i thought that the left/right ones wouldnt work that great as centre due to frequencies they are designed for, voice for centre etc.
i went to jbhifi and demoed the jensen in wall/ceiling speakers and they seemed fine, loud enough and sounded ok to me. so i'll go with those in the lounge and ceiling of bedroom.
so if the jensen EHT-6 would work fine as an in wall centre, then its between that and the KEF Ci160. which one would be best?
sorry but speakers is on thing i never really got into, more into TVs and HTPCs than speakers. so thanks for the help and excuse the dumb questions.

Personal choice. Whatever looks best and/or sounds best. Your choice. I don't have experience of either. I have KEFs in front and centre and real old cheap Sony in the back. All sound the same to me.
Another suggestion that doesn't really match the question, but I run two speakers in the ceiling on an offset (hidden by the grill). They are 4ohm in series. I had to use two due to studs also and could not wall mount a the screen covers all the wall
bought it because, it was pretty cheap and theres a lot of feedback on that page and most people rave about it. like I said, I'm not a huge audio person, just going to be using it for movies/games in the bedroom, wont be putting it up loud, I have a 4 year old in the bedroom next to me.
what are you going to use for a amp to drive them.
I only bought it because it was $288 down from ~$600 on boxing day (so i got two, one for lounge and one for bedroom). also got all the other speakers (except subs) cheap on boxing day from jbhifi
well when I say cheap i spent $1400 or so on - 4 sets of 2 in ceiling speakers (Jensen EHT-2, was going to get the EHT-4 but didnt like the oval look) - 1 centre (Jensen EHT-5) - 1 set of 2 in wall speakers (Jensen EHT-8) - 2x receivers (i think Sony STRDH520)
which i suppose is pretty cheap for 2 systems.
i figured, no walls up if im going to do surround sound in the bedroom i may as well do it now.
now just watching trademe for cheap subs, sadly i forgot about an auction and missed a wharfdale powercube 10 for $151. bought same one for $250 a week before, which i think is a good buy still...
