I wasn't aware that it could copy HD recordings to BluRay... I thought it down-scaled them to SD quality?
It did initially copy HD files over the network, but that has been crippled by IP HDCP that broadcasters are now demanding...

I got one. NL was 849 but no stock till April . HN price matched despite being verbal from me as not on NL website.

I picked up a Panny XW390 a month or so ago, which is intended to replace the older non-FV EH68 as soon as I have a spare afternoon to do the re-cabling of my whole setup that I have been procrastinating about for a while. While it's generally an upgrade (bigger drive, EPG, twin tuner, DLNA etc) the big downside is that Panasonic have had to gimp the unit to comply with the dratted Freeview specifications. So, I will lose the magic 60-second skip that I currently have for dealing with ad breaks

The main reason I haven't been particularly motivated to get off my backside and finish the job as most of what I record is off sky (in SD), as between the lack of content and saturation bombing by ads the HD and tuner doesn't offer much, and losing the 60-sec skip will be a PITA.

It sure does and I've done it.
Only downscales when recording to DVD and does that in real time. Recording to Blu Ray is high speed copy.
I can still copy the HD files over the network to the PC but can't do anything with them then. Nothing I've got will play them or edit them. SD files are no problem.
