We have an ATV2. We use it everyday. It's currently jail broken running XBMC with the PleXBMC skin for Plex.

I'll be reverting it back to stock soon, I just need to make sure I'm happy with my new Blu Ray player as a Plex client.

We run iTunes match, Photostream, YouTube and video podcasts.

I have an ATV2 jailbroken with xbmc. Great for watching any file format I like now. Also good for watching previews for upcoming movies.

I have a jailbroken ATV2 running XBMC. XBMC has since been transferred to raspberry pi and and the ATV2 is now sitting idle.

Apple TV2, not jailbroken. Used regularly for streaming hired movies, and extensive music collection. Also use AirPlay to view photos and videos from our iPhones.

ATV2
Jailbroken with XBMC.
Used daily for streaming content from my PC.

Would get an ATV3 when JB is available - though I cant say that its looking likely at this stage...

+1 on XBMC on JB ATV2

Blu Ray and DVD collection now live on external HDD connected to the router under the stairs.

Has a really good WAF and the hardware is fairly toddler proof,

ATV2 non-JB for Netflix a couple of video podcasts and airplay, used 2-3 days a week. If I could get the same or similar experience for Netflix with my MediaPortal box I would probably ditch the ATV but with the Netflix API not being public any longer, I cant see that happening.

Yeah I'd do they same.  Even a 10' interface on the browser would be better than what they have.  TVNZ/tv3 are just as bad

I have 2 x Apple TV 3’s and use them daily. They are so good I moved my HTPC to the garage and just use Apple TV.

I use MetaX to tag all my media… with everything tagged it’s awesome. It just works and the wife can use it too.

Youtube works great too, much better that my "smart" TV.

Airplay is great too, very useful for photos.

I ran an ATV2 for a while, then jail broke it to run XBMC. It worked well, but after a while I converted to a MacMini for higher quality stereo reproduction. I do have the PLEX Home Theatre Beta installed so I can still use Airplay from my iOS devices.

I have an ATV3.

Use it weekly at least.

Airplay, watching iTunes movies (either my library or rentals).

Stream my music from Mac to my home theathre system when we have guests.

Love airplay mirroring on my iPhone and iPad.

If any of you are having Wi-Fi issues with your ATV3 then it'd be worth seeing whether you're on Apple's list of detective hardware. If so, you can apparently get it replaced for free.

Mark: I used to have them, but got fed up with having to put everything into iTunes for it to play any of it, so hacked it put on XBMC which was much more format friendly .. then got an ATV3 for 1080p but it's still not jailbroken so got an Xtreamer Ultra2 instead which is far more betterer :-)

If you have an all Apple house and don't mind iTunes then the ATV is great, and I've heard NetFlix is superb on it as well (so long as you do unblockus as well).

but for me too limiting.

That Xtreamer looks AWESOME.

Got the ATV3, had the original which I had jailbreaked but was too unreliable.. The 3 is great, being able to AirPlay from the iPad or iMac. It doesn't matter if a video is in the correct format, just AirPlay it...
Also watch a lot of podcasts on it, WSJ, and the occasional radio

I have an aTV2 and it gets used daily. In fact it's probably our most used gadget...I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has!

It's jailbroken on the latest aTV iOS version. It's constantly logged into the US Store and we get US iTunes credit.

Also runs Netflix, and a number of other web services. Also use it for Airplay of music and video, and screen sharing of iPad and Mac's.

And the main feature I use it for is XBMC. It's accessing a library stored on my file server across the LAN.

It's certainly the most versatile and reliable piece of HTPC tech I've ever owned. I just wish the aTV3 was jailbreakable so I could get some 1080p action.
