Thanks all for the advice and help. The 55" doesn't arrive till early next month, so will have a while to wait until I can enjoy the experience. I have a few 3D blu-ray movies, so will be interesting to see how they come out on it. Love going to see a 3D big budget movie at the pictures.

Yes, as the rating for 20/20 is uncorrected, most people who are worse than that will be corrected to be better with glasses.

Yes, as the rating for 20/20 is uncorrected, most people who are worse than that will be corrected to be better with glasses.
Not that it's that important to the discussion, but 20/20 is not actually normal or average, let alone perfect, acuity. More like the lower level of "normal". Normal acuity in healthy adults is one or two lines better, say 20/16 or 20/12. Average acuity in a population sample does not drop to the 20/20 level until age 60 or more.
