Paste code into textwrangler, save to desktop as hello.cs

Open applications/utilities/Terminal
Type "cd Desktop"
Type gcms hello.cs (this compiles the program)
Type mono hello.exe

Next line should say hello world.

You downloaded a . Bundle file not a folder with files and folders inside?

Hmm

So that works, the live window comes up, everything performs as it should from what I can see - just no updates to the Program Guide. Really bizarre.

After its run, if I go and select an xmltv channel, and select xmltv again, it pops up with a blank list of channels, which seems to make me think there is no xml file being written for some reason. Or it's not finding it...

Does the playback stutter (as the script runs)?
Have you tried restarting your computer?
Have you named the plugins folder correctly?

Ok. Now it works!

Didn't really change anything, just ran it again and it worked!

Thank you so much for your help :) and especially your patience!!!!

Now just to automate it - and see if I can get the category script working

Ok I've written an Automator App, that runs both scripts for you - and it seems to work well!

I'm actually going to run a Launchd command that runs it at the same time each day as I leave my mac mini running all the time as a DVR essentially.

If you want it you can grab it here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o9hkxbxjeefjp5g/jnNLMgBjM6

It's the TV Guide app - I've saved the scripts you guys wrote too.

I was have a dig through the epg parser and it looks like epgcollector is v3.1 (opened the compiled .exe in text wrangler). I wonder if updating this component might be useful, looks like it might be tricky to debug though.

Should still be Mono compatible.

If it's not let me know and I'll fix it.

Combined the two scripts I posted and tided up a few things to make it more compatible and added a few instructions to update the EPG with a couple of clicks.
AppleScript for EyeTV only Dropbox - EPG EyeTV.zip
AppleScript for EyeTV and iOS TV Grid Listings App Dropbox - EPG EyeTV & iOS App.zip
