Newbie1234: I've just had a look at the Yamaha A3030. It has 4k upscaling like the Oppo player. But that wouldn't make any difference to my panasonic projector that I don't believe supports 4k?
Are there any 4k projectors around??
networkn:ilovemusic: Agree on OPPOs - great players.
The new 103D is amazing !
Not a fan of newfangled do-everything but sound good AVRs.
Too many doodahs, not enough core performance.
Try the Yamaha A3030's they have both!
fahrenheit:I'd have the 70.4 or the 80.3 for sure, but if it is only for an HT room, they are overkill for one zone, yes they are beasts but still an overkill beast, you are not downgrading if you are only settling for a great AVR for the single Zone and you are right the 50.4/5 or 60.5 would be a better option over the 50.3 or 40.*. Audyssey MultiEQ, XT32, they work really well, but not a deal breaker by any means when purchasing a AVR, some rooms they work brilliantly others not so much, I've had better results (for the clients ears) using an SPL Meter.overkill:
If you ask to drop the 70.3 down to 40.3 or 50.3/5 for the HT zone, this may save you $1-1.5K and you will still have a great AVR.
Not sure I'd agree with such a downgrade. The 70.4 is an absolute beast and the 40.3 is a middling entry-level AVR from two years ago.
The 50.3 and 50.5 only features Audyssey MultiEQ, so a far better option would be the 50.4 or 60.5 which have XT32.
