Good price, must be desperate to sell them though. TV's normally carry 20% margin, and the sales droid has dropped it to cost straight off the bat.
If you like the picture, just say no to the extended warranty, take no over priced cables and snap it up.

See if you can disable overscan once you get the TV.

A 2m HDMI cable can be bought for around $12.

Is there any way to decipher the various Panasonic product codes? I saw somewhere there was a site that detailed what each letter meant; i.e. how does TH-60AS800Z compare to TH-60AS700Z? Is the 800 series the latest?

Yes, go to their website and you can see the specifications
http://www.panasonic.com/nz/consumer/home-entertainment/viera-televisions/led-tvs.html
use the "compare" tool.

The TVs with water in the thumbnail are this year's models, the blank ones are 2013 models. They've changed how they lay out the model names this year. The higher the number, the higher the specifications so 800 is above 700, 700 above 6xx etc. Some models won't be in the retail channels yet. The AX800 is supposed to be very good for what it is but our retailers are still overcharging for it.

DSE has a day sale today (Tuesday) on the end of line L55ET60.
