Not sure where my edit button went.

Other thing is.. I want it to control my computer, for this I need WinLIRC not just whatever the media center supports.

But no one anywhere says what plugin/settings to use for WinLIRC and I've gone through all the plugins without any luck. All anyone ever says is they got it working with the DN2820FYKH and nothing else.

I've written my own software for my media center, but I need WinLIRC to handle receiving input.

By the way, streaming from steam to my DN2820FYKH works beautifully and without a hitch, and it pairs with PS4 controllers (thinks they're 360, so long as I know what X/B/Y/A all translate to it's fine for on-screen input hints). Gets 60FPS. Have to both be on wired lan, though.

"Processor thermal trip"... well that's a bad and somewhat scary bios message.

Seems common according to google.

I got the xbox 360 remote, and now everything is working fine in XBMC.

However, still don't know how to set it up to control windows 7 itself (presumably using WinLIRC).

I really just need to translate the remote input to keyboard keys - like XBMC does.
