grolschie: Anyways, D2 has launched! Looking forward to see if the quality of the current FTA stuff on B3 improves when it gets moved to D2. :)

The quality will only be as good as the provider encodes it at.  IE: Low Bitrate, poor quality.. High Bitrate, good quality.
It also comes down to how they've set up the 'weighting' on their mux (multiplex).

Cheers,
ZollyMonsta.

Most if not all the stuff on B3 is sourced from afare and dragged in via already thin Cband pipes.

So is D2 just replacement?  Are we not going to getting any more channels?  Even if their in afghani or maori I want more channels.

Yep, D2 is simply a replacement for B3 that is suspected to go the same sad way as B1. It essentially has the same transponder payload as B3, so at this point I doubt there are no new services that would have not gone on B3. I guess the only real change of note (in the Ku payload) is the power output is up just as D1 was over B1.
