I just purchased a HVR-3000 to go alongside a PVR250 running gbpvr. Before I dive into this just checking on the best way to install it.  I am guessing the following

1. Install the card and drivers
2. Test with WinTV or whatever Hauppauge application comes with the card to make sure I can tune into the Freeview channels
3. Then add the tuner as a device in gbpvr and hopefully it will work!

Any gotchas etc. appreciated

Thanks

Larry

I didn't bother with your step two.

But I did check with myTheatre, which was already on the box..

Hauppage WinTV-HVR4000 and WinTV-PVR-350.
PVR-350 connected with composite cables to TV/HDD recorder for input/output there.
HVR4000 connected with aerial and sat cable recording Freeview or analogue.

WinTV (I am using Latest version) works fine with both cards if set up correctly.

Bundled software with the HVR4000 Powercinema 5 does not find Optus D1 at all but works ok on Analogue channels.

Currently using WinTV and Mediaportal under XP Pro.

If  you can't find D1 with the bundled software how are you recording Freeview or is that Mediaportal?
