cldlr76: There don't seem to be face plates that allow for multiple hdmi outlets, and a lot the receivers seem to need a power supply, so when you're wanting to have a hdmi plug behind a wall hung tv you need to allow for another PowerPoint.

I dont know your intended use or setup but i have a few comments.

why do you need multiple HDMI outlets? if your intending on running extenders then shouldn't all your gear being one place, meaning only a single run to a display?
and again if its a wall hung hung tv, then there is already a power point there for the tv so its not hard to have a double, but if you have a better look at the products the transmitter is the one that has the power, the receiver (TV end) doesn't generally require power so thats actually a non issue. You just require an extra power point where your other devices are that you wish to send round the place.

for me i would have all my devices in one place, have a HDMI matrix switch and then one pair of HDbaseT for each display i wished to run. you can run IR blasters through most extenders, so yea.

Some sources like the firetv and games consoles cant be centralized like that, as they use RF for the control, and in the case of consoles you dont want to be trekking to another room to swap disks if you still buy stuff that way.

Wouldnt be a problem if ARC actually worked thru devices like that, you could just use the other TV inputs and have it ARC to the amp to get the audio to the big system.

I've got a 15M dynamics cable from an HTPC in a cupboard.
HTPC>1M>HDMI CEC Interface>15M>Wallplate>1M>YamahaAVR>1M>TV
No problems at all.
I run USB hub over 6cat balun for remote. No time for unresponsive non-ir remotes!

I got a 15m cable and it seems to be working well. I've also run some Cat6.

I'm also intending putting a soundbar on the wall as well, but from looking at the samsung site they should installed 50mm from the bottom of the tv.

Am I allowed to run the power cable in the wall to get to the PowerPoint behind the tv, or do I have to put up with seeing the power cord through the 50mm gap?

Why a Samsung soundbar?

I haven't seen a distance restriction for any other soundbars... especaially as many companies now provide soundbar mounts that attach to your TV's wall bracket.

Dunnersfella: Why a Samsung soundbar?

Just because the TV is Samsung, open to suggestions though.

I wouldn't worry about matching brands at all, unless you're looking for a curved soundbar to match a curved TV... even then, I wouldn't necessarily think that wall mounting either would be a good idea?

Regarding soundbars, try to stick to audio companies, not TV manufacturers...
