Thanks, I've ordered the Monoprice in ear headphones, which look to be identical to the Blackbox C20's

lxsw20: Looking at the Monoprice In Ear jobs, they seem to get a good review, and on closer inspection seem to be the same or very similar to the Blackbox c20

Wow! These look almost exactly, if not exactly, the same as the BlackBox ones! I wonder which ones sound better though and which one is the knockoff version.

I think  they are both just made by the same OEM and then branded whatever. I doubt blackbox or monoprice make their own stuff.

They will use the same OEM manufacturer. Audio Technica have some almost identical products as well.

Oh true. Just looking at the BlackBox website, the OEM manufacturer's probably Phitek?

I think Phitech is the development company that owns the IP.

If you want cheap the Panasonic RP-HC31E-K is $45-50 @ DSE.

Nope, using shipto.

And yes, if I did a couple of long hauls a year I would buy Bose, but for the amount of use they will get, I can't justify $400+

The value of the ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones can't really be beat, if you can still find them on Amazon. They're in-ear, so for airlines that are anel about wearing over-ear headphones during takeoff and landing, you're sorted. Paid about US50.00. Yeah, that's not a typo.
JVC's over the ear JVC HANC250 Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black  are almost as good as my old fabulous Panasonics. USD100. Add in Youshop shipping costs.

Was given a pair of Bose for my 50th last year. They're great, but the proprietary battery is annoying. Wouldn't've paid for them, since the JVC headphones sound nearly as good.
