Whats the model of the sony amp? Every HT amp I have ever had or seen (other then pre-dolby digital) has has at least 1 optical in on it, usually 3 or 4 of them.

Does it even have a coaxial digital in on an rca plug? jaycar do cheap converters between the 2.

Look at post 4,its one of those all in one units with amp,tuner,DVD and speakers. VERY limited only has one set of RCA stereo inputs and digital media port (you need an adaptor for this-optional ipod dock or bluetooth unit).

Wow, I am amazed that they can get away with publishing those power ratings as factual, and calling a 1 way speaker a woofer and a 16cm midrange a sub... bloody hell.

It will sound better then a TV but not by much.
