What panasonics are effected? I have huge issues with a 20m svideo run here, and if its just termination then I may drag another tv upstairs to see how it looks.
Its a tv out on a PC and there is so much smeering of the colours that it actually looks better on composite via rf then the dedicated svideo. Should really get a new video card with component out but that will wait for another upgrade I think.
Oh, and in order to get the "free" cable from sky they need some proof you are a customer and log it against your account.
The ones they give do seem nicely made tho, its not one of those rubbish fall apart type of scart plugs and the RCAs seem well made too.
I as yet have not found one Panasonic of recent build either CRT, Plasma or LCD that does not correctly terminate the Chroma channel of S-Video inputs. Some Pioneer Plasmas aswell.
I have found 470ohms to be sufficient to restore DC termination, infact from experimentation 1k was enough, but I decided on 470 as this was well within the 1k that seemed just adequate and yet would not provide significant parallel termination in the chroma band itself.
plug the scart-component to plasma and if there's another scart output use that for scart-rca to hd recorder. i doubt your hd recorder has a component input?
HDD recorders with scart will usually take RGB in to record, and with the cheap sky boxes not doing RGB and component simultaniously that means that to get the best both to display and tv means you need an active scart splitter and also a scart to component converter to feed to the tv.
Havent found any cheap scart splitters other then the crap passive ones that shouldnt be used for anything really.
