RunningMan: Most of the various NZ retailers and online sellers are offering Brateck brand mounts. Maybe have a look through their offerings, then price up the model you need.

Thanks. Would something like this work ?

That one doesn't seem to list 400x300...

Try looking through the ones here http://www.lumi.cn/en/flat-panel-tv/tv-wall-mounts

Surely, if it does 400 x 400 and 300 x 300 it will do 400 x 300?

You may need to drill another set of holes for other than a square hole pattern.

I bought a $38 bracket from NL which fits, we need to drill two holes to make it fit perfectly but the new TV is only 11KG and both components involved are rated 75KG and 25KG respectively and it should be fine.

Really hard to understand why Sony has made this so difficult.

networkn:
richms: Its more a leverage thing than the actual weight of the screen. Plus some cheaper mounts come with muck metal screws that will just shear off.

Most of the ones with rails will take all sorts of different sizes because there are lines of holes in the rails, its the cantelever ones that usually have a plate with holes in it. Otherwise get a 400x400 and add your own holes to fit the 300 dimension.

When you say rail ones, do you have an example?

I'd prefer not a solid plate, as with the new tv some of the inputs I want access to, are right in the centre where the plate would cover.

I think it'll look something like this

If it helps literally just today mounted our 42" Sony to an existing VESA wall bracket using a mount kit which arrived this morning via eBay.

I bought the mount kit from the seller pc_traders on eBay, it cost NZ$22 (GBP 8.95 - though I note today eBay are quoting NZ$19.60 - damn exchange rates!) including free delivery.

Ordered on 30th December so given timezones, a bunch of public holidays and alternative NZ Post delivery days that's pretty magic.

This solution worked well for me.
