Dare I suggest Senn Momentum (v1) [NOT overear] .... but your head needs to be not the big type. LOL

 

If you have have open I suggest Philips Fidelio X1.

 

Both over your budget tho. Don't know any at $250 sorry.

There are many variations of the DT770, see here. I didn't like The DT770-80 all that much, bass way too strong, mids recessed, lack of detail.

I have a pair of Sony MDR 10R I purchased on-line in December last year. Have never used them as I didn't like the fit.

 

I have purchase receipt (Heathcotes) and would be prepared to take $160 - PM me if interested.

I ended up getting the SRH840. They sound amazing although the bass is somewhat lacking.
