If somebody will use EPG Centre to do a transport stream dump of the frequency they are using, upload it somewhere and post the link I'll take a look at the data to see what is causing all your problems.

MHEG5 and EIT should both be OK, it's working fine on satellite and it's basically the same data.

OK, firstly thanks SJB - I appear to have it working once again. (One very happy wife now - last night, one very UNHAPPY wife!!)

I loaded my file and changed the MHEG5 setting for each frequency (3 here in Chch although one of them didn't seem to give me anything according to the log) to EIT as you suggested. I also ticked the Use Huffman text line in the Advanced pane.

So that's great - really appreciate your help here.

I have to say I was concerned (still am I guess) in that when I was running the file and 'collecting the EPG data' in EPGC, the log showed all the stations being grabbed and then in several lines indicated for each of the 4 tuners I have...."signal not acquired: lock is False quality is 0 signal is not present"

That was really concerning BUT the guide still works somehow - thank God.

I could look to post the log at some stage if 'guru's want to check it but think in the meantime people who can't access their guides at all, should be given priority.

Cheers guys.

Righto, tested again tonight.  Latest versions and hotfixes installed.

Still crashes on attempts to read EIT with huffman encoding turned on.  Turned off, reads EIT and current and next showing appear in EPG.  Bit bewildered, frankly.

Try this version.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiDSDCr3_acHgVaTd75B89Q1BwrY

I ran both of the transport stream dumps (538 and 570) and both collected a full MHEG5 7 day EPG without any problems. If you still can't get MHEG5 to work with the above version upload your log to Dropbox and post the link.

EIT collections with the 'Huffman' option  set resulted in an error 5. With the version above the EPG descriptions that are causing this problem are truncated and the error logged (there are only 5 of them out of 7400+) so that the collection finishes successfully.

I'll sort out the error 5 properly in the next few days and post a fixpack to Sourceforge.

Will test.  MHEG problems could well be set up issues at my end with WMC, rather than anything with EPGcollector.  SJB: You have been a stalwart in the community for ages, and do amazing work.  Hat tip to you, sir.

I totally agree, we owe SJB a huge debt of gratitude! EPG collector was the missing link for my HTPC. He is always in the forums to help us at anytime. EPG collector is absolutely awesome!

Thanks for all the updates guys. I almost forgot to check back as my EPG has been working fine downloading the xml from epg.org.nz. I mightn't have properly saved the changes, also I was still running a pretty old version, whether that made any difference.

Anyhow I'll leave it as is until that breaks, but at the moment if it ain't broken I'm not going to fix it. :) But I'll keep this thred bookmarked if I do need to switch back to EPG Collector.

Thanks
