kodi would do it all.   kodi runs on fire tvs(sticks), you then wouldnt need plex, but you can still have plex on a fire tv(stick).

We just bought a 32" Samsung Smart TV. It has an app for Plex, but I don't think it's updated regularly. As far as I can tell, the built-in Smart TV functions also operate at 720p, despite the TV itself being 1080p.

Have you considered buying an Android TV box/stick? You can get them from aliexpress/ebay/etc for about $US20 delivered.

Something you could try.....

I tried to search for DVBLink/Plex integration but came up empty.  Thanks for the link.  I tried it out last night and although it is a big clunky, it works (except for TV One and 2 for some reason).

Given it's on sourceforge and should be mostly python, you might be able to alter it to suit.

I am vaguely aware such a thing exists but no very little about them.  Could someone post a link to a couple of suitable Android TV sticks (I don't want a box but a stick would be suitable).  I don't want to get the cheapest device that is laggy though.

The Plexkodiconnect plugin for Kodi will let Kodi be the front-end, and synchronise it with a Plex server as the back end.
