Right, 2nd-hand PT AX100E purchased, now for a replacement bulb given the original is > 2500 hours.

Thanks for the advice all.  Much appreciated!

I have just received my replacement bulb ex Ebay, under $70 landed - about 4 weeks from order to delivery.

Installed it last night, very simple operation to do, fired it up and all good. Obviously, time will tell, but you'd have to go through about 4-5 cheap bulbs to match the price of 1 "genuine" Panasonic bulb. Also interestingly, when I took out the original bulb, the famous "made in china" was prevelent on the side of the bulb, exactly the same as the cheap ebay imported one. I couldn't know whether or not they came from the same production line, but its not really a stretch of the imagination to think they do....

Any chance of a link to that one (or PM if preferred)?

Thanks! smile

I've had an AX100 for 10 years, awesome projector!

What still sets it apart from the pack is the placement flexibility. It can be placed on a low coffee table or a high bookcase at the back of the room and it can even be placed 25% off-centre.

No expensive ceiling-mounting required!

I'm amazed the used prices are so low given how great a feature that is.

Very happy with the little AX100 unit I got, so thanks again to all.  I'm about to order a replacement bulb as the existing one is well past its expected life (> 3.5k hours) but still gives a good picture.  This projecting from about 15 ft onto a yellow-painted concrete block wall (yeah, few minor touches to be made to environment ;-) )

I would never have guessed that was from a bulb that had done 3500 hours!!!
