Dawg: For the audio streams check out: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=88&TopicId=20548&page_no=2

I believe they are looking at a June firmware release to fix the problem. lchiu7 has been pushing for the audio support on the NMT forums.
Even though its been requested in the past, I definitely advise people to push them on it - otherwise it could easily be forgotten about, or give the change a very low priority. The more people asking for HE-AAC support the better.

It's the lack of HE-AAC audio support that is stopping me from installing my HVR3000 card since I would have no way of actually listening to the broadcasts (sub will know the trials I have had trying to get gbpvr to work and not being successful). With the PCH I could use gbpvr to record and playback on the PCH.

I have asked a few times but as sub notes, hop onto to the NMT forums and keep on pestering Syabas. After all there are only 2 (I think) countries using this strange audio format (ourselves and Norway?) and so the user base for this amendment isn't huge but could be growing.

As an aside, apart from playing downloaded content from the Internet etc. the PCH actually plays DVD okay off iso images. This is useful if you want to move away from having to find the disc all the time and just put everthing on a server. For myself it also solves a slight dilemma where I no longer have a device in my HT setup that can play PAL DVD's. I have a PS3 and HD-DVD player but both are from the US and won't play PAL DVD's :-(. I can now use the PCH for that.

The thing I would love to see as well is a full SDK release so end-users can write their own plugins.

Just like sub as assisted support in GBPVR on the PCH, I would love to see the PCH connect to a Dreambox and controll that remotely allowing full control over the dreambox, it streams fine, just can't figure out how to change channels etc.

Hi Popcorn

Like some others out there I will not buy this box unless it is able to play back NZ HDTV recordings.  I signed up to buy one but when my turn arrived I did not buy it.

I will definitely buy one if it supports NZ HDTV as it does everything else I want.  I expect I will pair it up with GB-PVR.

I would like to see the Popcorn hour being able to pass through the High-Definition audio formats (DTS-HD, DTS-HD MA, TrueHD, etc..)

I'm still looking for a streamer that can..

Same here, signed up but didn't follow through as no HE AAC. As soon as it is supported I will buy 1 or 2.

Are there any final prices for the cheaper options? Or even the original?

Heh, i'm guessing since this thread made it to engadget that that other bit of information wasn't meant to be revealed either?
