I have a passive diplexer. Which I've already tried, and the reception is EXTREMELY POOR. I am going to get a new amp tomorrow too try.
Which cable should I replace the ones coming from the aerials to the amp or the amp to the house?

Depending on condition, both. All depends on how far you want to go, if you replace the amplified diplexer with a similar with saddle and clamp then maybe leave the cables, but if you were to get a Fconnectorised one, I would recommend you upgrade the lot.

ok sounds good.
Does it matter if its gel filled or gas injected coax?

Gel filled is best for anything that is outdoors, Belden Sky approved is what I use, DSE have it W1201 and W1203 although I normally pay 1/4 their price wholesale. Mastertrade/Corys should be able to do it for a walkin customer for half DSE price.
