What's the best place to get a MiBox? I see G-Best has it for $100 plus free shipping, but only with a US or EU adaptor.

I got mine from the Xiaomi store at Ali Express (currently USD $70): https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Global-Version-Xiaomi-MI-BOX-Streaming-Media-Player-Android-TV-6-0-Quad-Core-64Bit/2336004_32768535747.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000023.2.638b1490Db8mSK

I'm sure it used to have an option for the power adaptor and I selected Australia (now not there).  However; it just came with a US to AU adaptor.  Works fine as the power brick accepts 220v @ 50Hz.

Re. more usb ports - if I want to add a wireless keyboard as well as an ethernet usb adaptor

If you are thinking Keyboard to enter your passwords...

I have found that once you log into your Google account it picks up all the Passwords from there.  Don't have to enter my Netflix password - it just logged it in for me!  Creepy...yep a bit. Handy....most definitely.

You can also hook up your phone to it.  I cant remember if this allowed you to use that as a keyboard or not. Definitely as a remote with Android TV - though this was unnecessary because of the remote provided.

Not a big user of Kodi myself (actually have it just for the Freeview stuff really)...so just tested.  The voice search with the remote worked fine in it! :D

theres this app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv.remote

that lets you control an android tv device with your phone.  this also lets you enter text/voice via phone.  so for the few times you do need to enter stuff and cant be bothered with the onscreen keyboard, you can use this.

Just in case anyone comes across this thread and is interested in stuff about the Mi Box...mine finally arrived yesterday, and initial impressions after one evening's use are very good. Setup was a breeze. Attached a usb ethernet adaptor, plus a flash drive for extra storage...set up Netflix, Plex and SPMC...got rid of the mildly annoying Mi Box recommendations and all was well with the world.

One little bug I noticed was audio sync issues with Youtube, which seemed to right themselves after a reboot, so I hope this doesn't re-occur (would be interested to know if anyone has had similar experiences?).

Oh, and someone mentioned the Chinese "death adaptor" that comes with it (China > AU plug), and yes, it's certainly 'interesting' how when putting it into my power strip, the only thing holding it in, is gravity! Just in case, I've been unplugging the power at the Box end when not in use, but a trip to Noel Leeming is def. in order for a new adaptor.

Thus far, good times. Hope it stays like that.  :)

I just bought a USB to that pin adapter off ebay and power it via usb.  its 5v 2amps after all.

The adapter you got is probably european, im pretty sure china one is basically just AU/NZ upside down, all the xiaomi plugs are like that (weird combination of AU/NZ and US).  The US mibox i got was fine, but the one with the round pins and large piece of plastic between those pin and the meat of the dc adapter is terrible, hence why i replaced them with usb power.

Nice idea. What would "that pin" be called if I were to look for such a cable?
