Have been using the Harmony One since they first came out. Apart from a swollen battery in the early years been loving this remote. Agree with what has already been said about the awful software though.

For those wanting to add channel icons to your Favourites here is the site to go to.

IconHarmony the source for your favourite icons (previously called: Square Eyes Icon Harmony)

Just select your Harmony Remote, type in New Zealand in the search box then tick each desired icon and then click "Zip Icon" then click "Download" and there you have them. Within the New Zealand selection are all the FTA channel icons and some Sky. If you want others that are not there click on the alphabet letter in the alphabet bar and you will more than likely find what you are looking for.

The site even has YouTube videos on how to add Icons to your Favourites for the old desktop software 7.7 and the new MyHarmony.com.

If you do not find the icon you are looking for then find it via Google and send it to him via the upload link and he will convert it for all the Harmony remotes.

You can of course create your own Favourite Icons. Learn about it here: How to customize your Activity names and icons

If you require the Harmony desktop, MyHarmony, iOS or Android software you will find all here: Harmony Software

EDIT: just noticed that most of the FTA icons are out of date on IconHarmony so have popped him an email with the link to the Freeview channel page.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

We use the Harmony Companion because we both hate touch screen remotes (after our Harmony One) and we like having constant numeric keys. Had an elite for a week and took it back. I'll use my phone with the app if I want touchscreen.

I also don't like looking at my remote and can use the companion by feel.

Thanks everyone for your input...from what I am seeing, I also like the Harmony Companion (as it certainly seems to cover all the bases, and I do also like the idea of not really having a touch screen on the remote for now), so will try and work out the best (and cheapest) way to getting one of these in the house :)

Much appreciated everyone!

I have a feeling @Jaxson may do, or at least I know he's commented on the problems with Veon TVs and Harmony remotes given the lack of discrete power commands.

I almost bought a 55" 4K dumb Veon TV recently (ended up going for a 1080 Panasonic smart TV for a similar price) and one of the things I wasn't looking forward to was dealing with this issue, so kinda glad I avoided it!

I had (and still do ) a Harmony One and it was pretty good. The only issue it developed lately was one of the channel change buttons needed to be pressed hard to work so I remapped it to another button not used in the TV activity.

I have replaced it with a Harmony Ultimate Home which has a touch screen interface but the better feature is full Alexa and Google Home integration

Now I can say Alexa, "turn on  Freeview" and it turns on the TV and sets it to OTA TV. Or I can say Alexa "turn on BluRay" and it turns on the TV, sets it to HDMI1, turns on the AVR, turns on the BD player etc. And because it's hub based the remote is set to the right activity also.

Google also works but it's wordier since I have to say Hey Google "Ask Harmony to turn on Freeview"

Voice control s actually handier than I expected since I use voice to turn on an activity and turn off the entire system when I leave and the remote for controlling the activity itself/ Saying "Alexa turn the volume up" does work but it's not very granular and I get big jumps in volume.

I use mine with a Veon TV.  Really its just for on and off though. Everything else is handled by the mediaportal computer I have running there.  I have a vague recollection I had to add it in manually as my model wasnt found but dont quote me on that. Was a long time ago.  They do have some veon TV's in the device list.

Yep I use a harmony hub with a Veon TV, sound bar, sky decoder and roku.
Works great and I can manipulate the devices with Alexa or an app on my phone.

The tv lacks discrete ir codes though.

i love my logitech 785

i reckonits a better user interface than the ONE.

i loved it so much i couldnt bare not having it if it died so i bought a second one as backup.

i love that the 785 has the screen with viual buttons and is just so intuitive any member of the family can use it no problem.

the new universal remotes are pretty crappy by comparison.

I have just switched to a new Harmony 950 - after 10+ years with a Harmony One.

I loved the 'One' - but the 950 is better in almost every way.

The new software (for setting up the Activities) is different, but not much better.
I don't think the setup software will be a major hurdle for anyone on Geekzone.
Anyway, you only use it very infrequently - unless you are constantly reinventing your AV.
What matters is the Remote and the simplicity it brings to driving your gear - day in & out.

I was prompted to move because I wanted to experiment with the Harmony Hub & Alexa and only the newer remotes enable this. The almost worn-out batteries on the 'One' gave me the final push.

The Hub + 950 = Elite
I had a hub already - so I got the 950 to complete the set.
If you have Alexa / Home Automation intentions - then don't buy them separately, but get both as a set (ie: the Elite).

I've no experience with the Ultimate - but most people seem to prefer the button layout on the 950/Elite.

Harmony remotes are fantastic.

I believe the harmony remote was originally invented by a kiwi (living overseas).

Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Happened to me too, outside warranty. Logitech sent me a new battery with no questions asked.

I've had several problems with logitech products over the years, and they have always been great to resolve.  Even had a logitech engineer remote into my machine to fix a webcam issue.
