Don't hold your breath. I rang Sky to see when the Modulator was coming, and the bored, hostile, CSR said "Christmas day".
She suggested they cut off HDi if I wasn't happy. Wouldn't put me through to a manager. Where do they get these people?
I just go Sky HD installed to day and am trying to run it to my other TVs via the RF out on my Panasonic DVD Recorder however there is no picture come through. I am using Channel 38 on the other TVs which is what I did with my previous standard Sky Sat set-up. I have one of the older DVD Recorders the DMR-E100H.
Here is my setup.
1. Sky Box to TV via HDMI
2. Sky Box VCR Scart to DVD Recorder AV1 in S-Video (I have also made sure that this is set-up on the Sat Box)
3. DVD Recorder RF Out to other TVs via splitter box
Has anyone got any thought on why this would not be working?
According to the manual for the DMR series they do not support any form of RF output, only reception and RF pass through. So I suggest you either try an old VCR that will or get a modulator as discussed previously in this thread or wait for Sky to offer them.
I have a Panasonic VCR (Model NV-FJ600) which I tried. I can send non sky channel to the other TV via RF out but can't seem to be able to tune the Sky Channel to the VCR.
obvious checks is the correct Line input selected and ensure the VCR/TV button is pressed and the TVs are tuned to the right ch, most VCRs with UHF modulators are on Ch36 or 38, otherwise Ch1 VHF.

I ordered one of these RF modulators from Jaycar that Cyril linked to. The sales guy at Jaycar said that Sky had ordered 200 of them - so that's what they will be supplying to those that need them (wouldn't be free I imagine?).
I am getting HDi installed in 2 weeks, and keeping the SD box for the free 4 months - just deciding where I want the second decoder put. Seriously thinking about leaving them both in the lounge with the main TV and piping them both ot the other TVs in the house (the SD already is - with a Remote sender) - that way, for four months at least, I can have 2 sky channels playing on the other TVs at once.
The Modulator is included in the multiroom package from Sky. No extra cost.
re having both STB's in the same room .... the remotes are identical, so this causes problems.
Just to clarify: When you say the remotes are identical, I currently have a pace SD standard sky box (not MySky) and want to put it and the MySkyHDi in the same cabinet. Are the remotes really the same? Can anyone confirm or deny?
Also, on the remote thing, is anyone using remote senders/universal remotes succesfully with MySky HDi? I have an All-For-One5 universal remote and an All-For-One IR sender which works fine with the Pace box, I hear rumours that the MySky remotes are a bit more fussy.
Certainly some interesting ideas have been raised.
I am wondering if anyone has tried AV Senders and how they are coping with MySky HDi. There seem to be a limited amount of 5.8Ghz devices on the market. My understanding is that only SD capability is available. This would probably suffice my current situation.
I have a 5.8ghz DSE sender to go from a myskyhd unit to a tv in one of the kids bedrooms, probably 20 metres away.
Picture is definitely watchable, no snow or anything like that although happened to turn it on yesterday whilst the US open was on and noticed that the lines on the court were a little wonky. Biggest issue is that as soon as there is any on-screen graphics from the unit (eg info, guide, planner) the picture because signficantly distorted / warped - can make things out but only just.
Note that the sender worked perfectly on a mysky unit that was their previously, and I even thought that the picture was better than the previous set-up which was a rf out from another mysky unit through a cable in the house to an outlet in the bedroom.
In summary it is a solution, albeit not a perfect one in my case. If I had my time again probably would have bought one of the RF modulators - can't go back now as have rewired the rf system to distribute a freeview signal around the house.
Note I had tried a 2.4ghz unit and that was a complete waste of time, too much interference from the wireless network etc

Only the mysky and myskyhdi remotes are identical. Skysd has a different remote. I misread your post.
I went with the Unitek HDMI cat-5e extender http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?item=ADPUNI1001 to get sky HDi on both TVs. I have used shielded cat 5e cables over a run of approx 25m and although I get a great picture it is intermittently cutting out. Although I have used cat5e shielded cables for the long cable run and these are then terminated at RJ45 wall sockets. From the wall sockets to the extender units I am using 1m unshielded patch leads. I am wondering if this could be the cause of the problem. Anyone got any thoughts?
edit. I took the hdmi splitter out odf the equation and watched Sky for approx 2hrs with no issue. Plugged the Splitter back in and within 30 sec the picture was cutting out so this must be the cause of the problem. Any recomendations on a good quality splitter?
