Are you running Scart - Svideo into your HVR-2200 Svideo port, if so how are you doing the audio from the Sky box ?? im assuming you are using the 2 RCA plugs on the Scart - Svideo lead into 2 RCA - 3.5mm plug into the 3.5mm jack into the HVR-2200. If you are then this means I could dump my PVR150MCE and just have the HVR-2200 in my HTPC using it for the Sky signal in VMC and using the 2xDVBT onbard tuners in DVBViewer for FreeviewHD.

I have an HVR-2200 and am doing exactly what others are doing in terms of feeding sky through it. For the audio requirement, I just use one of these...

The sockets (obviously) plug into the ends of the 2 x RCA plugs, whilst the other end plugs directly into the audio in of the HVR-2200.

I have a query for those running sky from their sky stb through their HVR-2200.  I am doing this it would appear the same way that others are doing.  Everything is going very well.  However, everything is 4:3 and not 16:9 or 4:3 accordingly, just 4:3.

Am I missing something here or is this by design (or rather limitation) of the HVR-2200? I'm guessing the former, eg. I am missing something. :)  I have the STB correctly set in terms of telling it that the destination display device is 16:9.  Also, if I unplug the svideo plug from the HVR-2200 and into my TV it resizes to 16:9.

Disclaimer: I have only had the HVR-2200 for 24 hours and have yet to trawl the (various) forums for confirmation that this is "normal", tia.

Conversely some people use

http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/48bb407905da21e0273fc0a87f3b06ed/Product/View/P6674

in conjunction with
- 1 x 3.5mm stereo plug to 2 x RCA plugs, cable
- 1 x svideo/svhs to svideo/svhs, cable

To do essentially the same thing as an "all in one solution"

Hotdognz:eXdee I have a Qs for you.

That's right, im using a 2 RCA - 3.5mm plug. However i highly reccommend against plugging one of these straight in. This is what broke my audio jack from the pressure. Get a 2 RCA - 3.5mm cable, or use a 3.5mm extension like i'm going to.
I also would suggest against dumping your PVR150 unless you're going to give it to me . I imagine having a seperate analogue card makes recording easier and channel switching faster/less buggy.

I simply right clicked in mediaportal and changed aspect ratio to stretch. Not sure what a better solution is.

Thank you.  I am going to re-install media portal tonight, as I have been using SageTV.
