Thanks Satch,

Yes it does work.  It's very long-winded, but it does work.

It is stupidly complicated.  But that is what we've been provided in the TV Pack and we need to do the best we can.

Yeah, it seems that the breaking of things with TVPack 2008 left us eating a huge crap sandwich...

Thanks again for the workaround...

It begs the question:  If this works fine using SKYTV's EPG, is it simply the way the guide is interpreting the EPG information coming down the DVB?

And also, do you know which transponder SKYTV is hiding the EPG data for Prime?  I'm trying to get (in the short term until I get my new tuner card) an analogue tuner working alongside my DVB-S tuners (using the TunerApp program) so that I can watch and record shows on Prime.

I've just had an update from one of the MS developers, and he's been in touch with MS NZ about the guide issue.

They'll be setting up a test machine next week to try and replicate the problem. He thinks it may be an issue that they are already working on a fix for, but they'll have to see if it fixes the freeview guide issue.

It's good to know that we haven't been forgotten down here.

@RhysB

Did you hear anything more from Microsoft?  A TV pack update came through last night via windows automatic update.  I wonder if it was a result of their testing.

The update hasn't seemed to fix what I think is a related problem though:

Since installing TV pack, my computer keeps waking from sleep randomly (and yes, I have disabled guide listing downloads for media centre).  And the monitor doesn't ever power off, it just changes from the blue login screen to a sickly orange colour.  Super weird.  Anyone else have this issue?

I've seen a post claiming the issue has been identified and fixed, but not yet released as a patch.
This was a week ago:
