Thanks for your advice on the bios change on MP sorting out some other stuff but intend to try. I can't list my set up yet as not at 10 posts but as stated before very similar set up to you and with a Phenom 9550 quad 2.2 running at 30% on live tv. I'm still having quite a few probs with MP and think a lot is down to VISTA v XP.

exdee: New one came out a couple of days ago and fixed the HW acceleration issues i was having (dropping frames). After you install them uninstall PhysX that comes bundled if you don't play PhysX games (or any at all).

Does PhysX cause known issues with Media Center / Media Portal / Other? Or are you simply suggesting getting rid of stuff you don't need?

I've just installed the latest nVidia drivers, and am inclined to leave things as per the standard install if they aren't broken.

I've got a Vista+EVR+8600GT+MediaPortal I don't notice any flicker. EVR is just beatiful imho, even DVDs look much nicer.

That's interesting to know. I thought the flicker was due to mediaportal + evr + osd, and occured with ati and nvidia, did you watch the youtube video with the example of flicker. Was this fixed in an SVN update?

Ive never experienced this "flicker". Been using MP and Vista + EVR since RC1.

Precisely. One less thing on the hard drive and one less thing that possibly runs at start up with its own driver.
