I have anydvd hd and would recommend it to anyone with a dvd or bluray player.

The only downside to the whole 1st Jan (11th Jan) timeframe is that Slysoft haven't finished developing their new Clone HD software (similar to clone DVD but atm it is command line only). I see thay have a alpha build out on their forums.

After doing a week's research into alternatives, it showed there were no real viable options -either free- or pay-ware- for future-proofing your Blu-ray setup. At least at this point in time. Especially if you want to rip your discs to HDD for ease of playback.

As a result, I decided to bite the bullet & purchase the AnyDVD HD package. I know I won't regret buying the product, but still believe it is over-priced for what it is. Guess it's like i't's like when we were forced to buy petrol at $2.20 a litre; if there's no competition, you either pay or walk. No point in spiting your nose, to save your face

At least I saved some $12 in waiting as the exchange rate climbed slightly.
