I was seriously thinking of returning my harmony with the crap PC software to set it up - had no end of problems with it saying not connected to the internet when I was, and taking 4-5 seconds to just change pages.

How crap like that gets past any form of QA process - I dont know.

Depends on if others are getting the same problem or not. With the latest release I have a problem with it not loading the inital page correctly but other then that it is fine. No problem with speed between pages.

Yes I had the same problem with the connection to the remote timing out, but only when I am using my laptop to update the remote. When I use the desktop which is also an XP machine (and the same USB cable) it connects perfectly and stays that way. I have identical firewall and AV software on both machines and they are connected to the same router, so go figure. Having a 'net based system has its benefits as well in terms of the database.
I'm trying not to be a Harmony cheerleader too much because it did cause frustration for a start, but having persevered I now find it rewarding when family members can have a one touch solution to configuring our AV setup.

The problem is that it takes about 3-4 mins do do a change, load it, try it, find it doesnt work, and then get into the software again.

Also it seems to not have any discrete AV codes for most gear, or discreet power codes despite them existing on other remotes as part of a macro - because its a macro I cant learn it to the logitech.

Has anyone tried it with a samsung tv? It seems that the items in the source list change depending what is con or off connected to it, and the way it works with my panasonic won't work if I get one for mum.

And whats with the contrast on the screen of the 525 - cant find anywhere to adjust it.

If the device supports on and off then providing someone has added to the database it it possible to change the control to support on and off. I had to change the options for my Sony TV to take advantage of the seperate on and off commands. If it is not in the database does the remote that came with the TV have on and off buttons?

If they exist in other remotes as a macro you should be able to create the same macro in the logitec?

The source list should not change as its based on what the hardware has. Can you give an example?

Dont think there is any way to change the contrust it is fixed AFAIK.

well on the samsung, if there is somethingin the RCA inputs, they get cycled thru when pressing source, if there isnt anything, then they are skipped over. I can see that causing a problem if it doesnt go straight to the inputs thru discrete commands.

Ah understand. Surely it has discreats though? My Sony does and that is heading towards 3 years old now. However the remote did not. But logitech still had programmed in descrete commands.
