This pre-wired kit. Is it external to the TV or internal?

That code does nothing.. With the TV in standby, as soon as I press the '1' button the TV turns on and goes to TV channel 1 (TV1 Freeview).

Thanks for the link.. I'll have a read through that tommorow. Nothing it the thread so far jumps out at me.

i dunno if the still hand out kits (or if they even did before, maybe i was too persistent). In any case it was a warranty breaking remove case, cut and solder wires internally job. not a light decision to take on a $5k screen :P

Definately call the radiola guys and see if they can offer any assistance though. worst case they will tell you to bugger off :P

Eek.. yes something I couldn't nor would I be prepared to do. I'll give them a call next week.
Certainly can't afford a home theatre now.. just been to dentist.. $250 later... plus some urgent dentist stuff needed to be done as soon as poss.. so that will be another $2800.. ouch.

Thanks for your help, probably not much else can be done now, unless Radiola offer some sort of assistance.
We're using the TV speakers for the time being, the sound is not as nice as through the stereo but we'll have to live with it for the time being.

I'm assuming your existing home theatre system doesn't have SPDIF input which is why you're using the analogue RCA's?

Yep.. correct.. Its capable of video switcing (composite) but no optical input or coax input for that matter... its old :) But we love the sound from it.

Does the same delay occur with the analogue tuner?

Has your model got the ability to switch between AC3 and AAC on TV3? No doubt you've seen a few other posts showing some firmware allowing this and some not?

I haven't tried the analogue tuner.. but HDMI, SVIDEO, FREEVIEW sources all have the same delay between TV Speakers and External audio connectors.

I've been through all the menus, but no theres no setting for selecting audio from what I can tell.

It seems the analogue audio is ahead of the video on screen

because its the video thats slower than the audio I believe its the video processing thats stuffing everything up. With my samsung i had the same problem - whether i played audio direct to recever, or to receiver via tv input/output. The solution was to end the picture to the screen in the screens native format/resolution so that there wasnt any video scaling going on once it go there.

my solution (apart from the dodgy wiring) was to drop an HTPC into the mix. Everything now goes via the HTPC and the HTPC does all video scaling and passes audio through to the receiver and everything is pefectly in sync. (and if it was out of sync the htpc can add delay anyway!)

Notsure if the same applies to the samsungs as the phillips but if you turn off all the video-processing effects (like anti-blur true motion or whatever name they call it) then this should be reduced, perhaps you can find a tradeoff between the video and audio?

Spoke with Radiola today, cannot offer any suggestions.

Tonight I've plugged a 3.5mm to left/right rca plug cable into the headphone socket. The other end is plugged into the amp. Audio is in sync and I've just set the tv volume to 30. More volume can be done at amp end if needed. Now, would there be any danger in continuing to use this method for a while do you think?
The only problems I can think of are: turn the tv volume up too high and overdrive the headphone socket or to have the tv volume high, then remove the headphone jack (very loud volumes suddenly through the tv speakers themselves).
