That's interesting, I have a 4k streamer too but my problematic 4k Veon only does 720p with it and no cec hence wanting to upgrade.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I think the Panasonic made ones are fire tv where as the tcl rebrands are android tv

Ah. Mine's Android, so I guess that means I should TCL to the blacklist (although to be honest it was probably already there).

That's surprising.  I think it would be solvable.  Would you like a second set of eyes over your setup?  If so, create a new thread and I’d be very happy to help.

Where was it made, Europe or China? I hear that the Chinese ones are not great for longevity.

Well, it appears Panasonic is pulling out of New Zealand TV market.

I am leaning strongly towards Samsung, what are the screens like for reflections? My current tv is like a mirror ☹️

Weve just moved our samsung to a wall mount with lotsa light now, I'm impressed with lack of reflection.

Another tick for Samsung then.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I actually looked at that TCL model but lots of people suggest Samsung and there was mention of Dirty Screeen effect what ever that is, so confusing with all the choices. So much easier when they were all B&W 21" 😁

I just replaced my 65in Samsung with a 75in TCL C7K and couldn't be happier with it. The Samsung did a great job for 10 years but started an increasing number of bright spots over the last 6 months. I got the higher end TCL for its anti-glare screen primarily as there are windows behind. I can now properly see the screen in bright light. The equivalent Samsung was about 30% more expensive.

I have Samsung Qled9 65" in a lounge full of large windows. Can see the TV clearly with all the blinds open, in full sunlight streaming in.  No need to pull the blinds any more.  Love it.
