Look, it's abundantly clear that most people on this forum don't have a clue what they're talking about. Cables are one of the most important components in any hi-fi system, and you literally can't spend too much money on them.

I use and recommend only Pear Cable's Anjou cables. At $7250 US a pair, they are a little more expensive than the competition, but they're definitely worth it. Classical and jazz sound more lively and real, without being bright or harsh. Rock music really comes into its own with these babies; I was listening to a live recording of AC/DC last night and was totally convinced I was at the concert. So much so, I queued for half an hour to get a beer from the fridge and had to go for a whizz behind my couch.

I hear Pear are about to release a true audiophile-quality USB cable for the iPod too. I can't wait; I'm sure my music will sound so much better once it's been copied to the iPod with a proper cable, rather than the woeful USB cable that Apple provide.

Regrettably, Pear Cable passed up the opportunity to prove once and for all that their cables are truly head-and-shoulders above the competition. See the blatantly biased article by the heathens at Gizmodo here

Thanks buzzy, that post made my day :-)

It sounds like you'd really enjoy Denon's "special" network cable too. A true bargain at only $US499.

buzzy - I bet you've upgraded your power cords to these too, haven't you?  (Yes, those prices are in pounds!  Multiply by 2.5 to get rough NZ$ - insane!)
