OLED? I don't think these new Samsung "LED TVs" are OLED are they? I think you'll find they are still LCD panels with which are LED back-lit

yeah, you;re right. OLED are stil a few months away it seems (for smaller screens). these are still LCD screens that use LEDs instead of a backlight. still has advantages with blacks and contrast and is a lot thinner but not as good as the OLED promises to be

old3eyes: I think if you follow Reg's advice you will never buy anything as technology keeps changing..


my initial main point was the fact that the current prices are all based on $1NZ = $US0.53 which is around the dollar level when all the 'current' prices seem to have been set.  Now that we're at NZ$1 = US$0.63 all he current prices are too high, and should be falling again.
