Hi Regs, did you get past the "no TV signal" bug thing... I also have it in RTM Windows 7 (never had the issues in VMC)
My setup only has 2 x nova-s (pci - dvb-s) tuners.

Hi Regs

I have a very similar config to you (two satellite tuners).
For me, 7MC-RC does not overlap shows scheduled to record back-to-back on a single channel. This can be very annoying, since I have to fast-forward to the end of another recording just to catch the first 5 minutes of my show. I recall this working fine under Vista :/

I'd have hoped for one of two options:
1) For the overlapping time period, record the same data to two files (last 5 mins of first show, first 5 mins of seconds show), or...
2) Use the 2nd tuner if it's just hanging around doing nothing.

I wonder if you experienced the same, and, has this been resolved in 7MC-RTM?

Cheers

i set all my shows to finish "on time" but there are hardly any shows that i record back-to-back. the ones that i do are the one news followed by close up and three news followed by campbell live. I dont believe that if i changed it to end later and start earlier that it would write the overlap to both recordings though...

i dont seem to have any problems with the finish 'on time' setting .... as long as my PC updates its time every day (see reg hack to force daily ntp update)

hmm, unfortunately this is where most of the "free" solutions are better than MCE.  The free ones will record multiple channels off a single transponder.  I.e with a single dual tuner DVB-T card, you can record tv1, 2, 6, 7 on one tuner and tv3 4 on a second...  Makes back to back recordings very easy.

Pity MS didn't decide to follow the same logic...

rvangelder: what is the exact error message?

from today:

NO TV SIGNAL

there was no TV ignal on channel 3 so "ITM Fishing Show" could not be recorded. Reschedule the recording after verifying the TV signal is working for that channel.

I had this a lot with a USB tuner Pinnacle PCTV Nanostick (73e) with the 64-bit RTM. This is annoying because it was working fine on RC1 on a different PC, running the 32-bit OS. I switched to a Hauppauge HVR-1200 and haven't seen the error since, so I'm guessing it's a driver issue.

Clean install of x64 RTM now running MCE with no apparent issues on AVerMedia Trinity.
Did use the x64 Vista drivers from the vendor to get things up and running.
The 360 also seems happy as a media center extender shares from the WHS working fine.

BlueToothKiwi: I am very annoyed that I could not upgrade from Win7 RC to RTM. Especially given how stable my HTPC setup was [after the painful perseverance with ATI people].

I did know it at the time I installed RC.

So far I have done a clean install on my laptop - but holding off wiping off HTPC and starting over - as I am so scared to break it.

P.S. Nice meeting you yesterday, RhysB
Tim

You can upgrade, just extract the files to your hard rive and edit the cversion.ini file in the sources directory and change it to something like this:

[HostBuild]
MinClient=7100.0
MinServer=7100.0
