RustyGonad: They are supposedly replacing it with this:

Which if your into Sky will be a very very nice option. Dual S2 tuners in a single slot can't be a bad thing...
blur: I agree - thanks for the link. I think on that basis I will take the plunge as we should be able to get it out of Australia.
Threads - would you like to maybe combine freight for this item and grab 2? Have you seen any on-line retailers for this product?

That looks like a great card - seen any retail info yet?
blur: Hi all
I just thought I'd post a quick update with where I am up to with my DVB-S dilemma. What I have ended up doing was purchasing a second PCIe DVB-S card. There aren?t too many of these around, and of the ones that are available, they seem to be 3-in-1 cards with DVB-T inputs which pushes the price up.
I was pleasantly surprised to find on TradeMe a straight PCIe DVB-S/S2 card from TeVii that didn?t break the bank. The card was easy to install and I can confirm that it works flawlessly with Windows 7 64bit and Media Centre.
I understand that it might not be acceptable to link directly to a TradeMe auction, so in the event that this post gets edited simply search TeVii on TradeMe and you?ll find the cards. I?m really happy and think that they represent good value for money.

blur: Hey Threads. It did come with a low-profile bracket, but no S-Video in port.
I'm not sure what a cable bypass is!?!?
Dear Sir,
BlackGold has now completed evaluation of the initial BGT3595 product; we have managed to identify some improvements and have put into place a revised prototype build of the final product. Because the decision has been taken to incorporate the changes and test further prototypes before release, the final release is now likely to be early 2010.
In accordance with company policy, initial release will be to the OEM sector and retail release will follow approximately four weeks later.
Kind regards,
BlackGold Support
allstarnz: found this in my travels on another site:
don't expect it for a bit then.

I got that email when I asked about the BGT3595, so posted it on another forum :-)
So what's the general consensus, are people going to wait for the BGT3595 or try and get a pinnacle?
I am sorely tempted to get the TeVii off trademe but holding back at the moment in case people put in for one of the dual DVB-S tuner cards and we get some savings on shipping.
I have a HVR-2200 but recently moved house and now I get only analog reception of TV1 and TV2.
Couple that with the errors I get in Mediaportal when trying to use analog (1.1.0 doesn't like it currently but its on the list of fixes for RC1) and I've only got the HVR-4000's DVB-S, bummer!
