Warehouse had the veon bluray player for $78 when I was there on the 26th, and I think it was a 3 day sale?

Anyway, another $50 and you are playing a less outdated disc format, just saying ;)

The $99 Toshiba BluRay's are the best bet IMHO. There's a mutli-region DVD in the box that allows you to unlock the hidden menus... allowing you to change the BluRay and DVD playback zones. Making for a name brand $99 multizone BluRay player. Nice.

The Tosh does a good job with BD playback but is awful with DVD.

In what way? Slow or picture? If pic isit just bad "upscaling" being applied or what?

NotReally: Thanks to richms and quickt. Tried both the 4cc changer and the mpeg modifier but couldn't get it to work. The original files played fine on a friend's Panasonic (disc and usb) so I took it back and got a refund.

Did you try this program:

I used to playback xvid (avi) files on my DVD player and they used to jitter a bit - especially on panning shots.

The trick was (from memory) when you opened the file with this program an indiactor would show "Packed Bitstream" and there was a checkbox to unpack. You just clicked that and saved the file. It always sorted the problem. Takes a few seconds to 'convert' the file.

hi richms,

picture quality and scaling are sub-par even for a budget bdp.

come to think of it sound quality wasn't so hot either.

Hey people! i am by no means a tech whiz at all, was going to buy a media player but saw the visione player at Harveys for so cheap and thought it would be stupid not to buy it! anyway connected my 1 terrabyte hard drive into it with no luck, so I then chucked in my little 2g flashdrive in and BOOM worked straight away - so was wondering does anyone know how big a hard drive can you put into the USB on these players? also is there a way for me to be able to use my terrabyte drive? any help would be primo,
