Some progress here...I've got it capturing correctly now and played with the compression settings (as outlined at the start of the thread). I also got the audio working, but when I go to start sampling now I get this error:

I guess my next question is, if I can't get this going properly, can anyone suggest some good (free) video capturing software to me? :)
