Thanks everyone very informative. So if I get Total Media Theater I guess you'd recommend the Gold edition because if I'm reading it right thats the only one that will play Bluray? Would I still need Total-DVD to play other region Blurays and save to HDD or would Total Media Theater Gold do that as well?

If you want HDMI pass through (Protected Audio Path), then I think that you need the Platinum version rather than Gold or Standard. Here's the Feature Comparison of the three product versions from Arcsoft's website: Feature Comparison
As Deev8 says you need platinum, to be honest both the standard and gold are pointless as they do not allow playback of blurays which is what the software is for....

Just one other thing you may want to consider is the ability to extract the HD audio from the Bluray too. I know in the past this has been quite a tricky situation, in that you can only get HD audio via hdmi.
A lot of computer solutions seem to want to output video only via hdmi or at least weren't really happy to output the latest HD audio over hdmi too. Depending on if you want this, or what your receiver can work with, you might need the computer to decode these formats to PCM or output the compressed HD audio for your receiver to decode.
That issue has been improved massively by ATI releasing the 5xxx series of cards that allow bitstreaming via HDMI. Of course you need a HD capable receiver to use bitsteaming but at least it is not the mess it was before.
