joker97: anyone knows if ati hd mobility 5450 will work? thinking of buying a dell laptop with the extreme low power graphics

I haven't tested a 5450, but seriously looked into it recently until I decided not to change anything and wait. The only difference in features that I could find between the 5450 and 5570 and above was the that the 5450 would not handle 3D, PIP, or multiple displays.

There could be more limitations, but I wasn't concerned for the price and fact the Gigabyte do a silent 5450 card I was almost going to buy.

Home Server: AMD Threadripper 1950X, 64GB, 56TB HDD, Define R6 Case, 10GbE, ESXi 6.7, UNRAID, NextPVR, Emby Server, Plex Server.
Lounge Media Center: NVIDIA Shield TV 16GB: Kodi18 with Titan MOD, Emby.
Kids Media Center: NVIDIA Shield TV 16GB: Kodi18 with Titan MOD, Emby.
Main PC: Ryzen 7 2700, 16GB RAM, RX 570, 2 x 24"

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone knows if a 4350 can de-interlace TV3 / 1080i using Motion Adaptive?

I understand that its not powerful enough for Vector Adaptive

I just bought a 4350 before I found out about the whole 1080i deinterlace - it appeared to be a great solution for my HTPC as its low-profile and passively cooled

Haven't opened the box yet so can still upgrade to a 5450

I have two ATI Mobility Radeon cards here. Both play Freeview|HD with no problems.

Dell Zino HD Mobility Radeon HD 4350 1GB RAM (my Media Center in the lounge)
HP DV6 Mobility Radeon HD 4650 1GB RAM (my main laptop)

Using Weave deinterlacing in both.

ATI is now distributing the Catalyst software and drivers directly to Mobility Radeon users. Instead of installing the OEM driver, just head to ATI and download from there. I am using their latest driver, released earlier this month.

Worth noting that Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic are not taking part in the Catalyst Mobility programme currently. Pretty much everyone else is (Asus, Dell, HP etc).

I think there's a problem with 480p playback with the 10.x driver series that hasn't been resolved yet.

1080i, 1080p and 720p seem fine now with ATI hardware/drivers.

An update in case its of use to anyone

I downloaded the latest drivers as suggested from the ATI site

The drivers gave me the option for Vector Adaptive

I tested the cheese slices video and the 4350 seemed to provide the same results as the 3650 I have in another PC

It does have less options than the 3650 - less anti-aliasing etc
