I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.
sittingduckz: I have similar issues with video stuttering, only really during Live HD TV and recorded HD TV. I just change my graphics card from ATI HD5770 to nVidia GTX260 with the same issue. The PC should be fast enough.Did you reinstall your OS afresh after changing your graphics card? Or just uninstall drivers & install Nvidia ones? If so, you may find a complete redo could well solve your issues.
I have also changed the HDMI cable just in case... still no good. It mainly seems to happen during 'Deal or no deal' & 'Home & away' (Maybe its just aussie shows on mine?)
It feels like a media centre issue, just not sure how to fix it!!
There are people all over the internet with this problem and no solution yet... it sux

brucej: Hi I had the same problem with Video and Recorded TV stuttering constantly. I ran Windows 7 and Windows Home Server with no problems for 6 months and when I installed my new TV Card 'Play Ready' installed and the stutter started. It has taken me a while to isolate it, but when I uninstalled Play Ready my video stutter stopped.
